FLCL (2000) - 33th Watch Completed

Completed my 33th watch of FLCL. I’m on the precipice of significant life changes and felt myself thinking about episode four and the show overall a lot. FLCL is close to my soul, so I wanted to experience it again in this time. I felt like I began to truly understand what FLCL was, at least to me, with my last rewatch, and that trend continued with this one. I discovered more about what I thought it all meant, and about how much I loved it. My interpretation goes something like Haruko is a child who never grew up while Amarao is a child who forced himself to grow up. Naota learns the only way to truly grow up is to engage in the childishness while continuing to move forward. Making stupid decisions, having experiences, not denying any of your own feelings, and allowing the growth to come naturally. There’s more specifics, but I’ll save that for the long awaited day where I feel capable of writing a real piece about FLCL. Til’ then.
