Finally got around to playing this and completing it. I didn’t do many, if any, side quests or gigs in the DLC but I plan on doing so now with the main quest down. The main quest was solid. I liked it. I don’t think it was necessarily better or worse than the main story. It integrated pretty decently into the existing game which was my main worry. I went with the “Betray Reed” route first and then sent Songbird to the moon by herself. I liked that ending the best, story-wise and thematically. But after trying the “Betray Songbird” ending, wow did they put way more effort into that one. The presentation was wayyyyyy more involved, interesting, and just better. The gameplay was way more interesting too. It was way longer. It really feels like the other route got shafted. It felt awkward shooting Songbird off to the moon, I get a talk with Johnny and then the game continues as normal. It didn’t feel properly fleshed out at all. The sequences were also just, shoot a lot of attacking soldiers. Really lame in comparison. But, regardless, a good DLC. Four out of five stars.
Songbird is my mentally ill Discord gf so I had to help her. Reed seemed okay but I couldn’t trust him so fully as he’s still the agency’s lapdog, whereas Songbird felt more like a person. Although she betrayed me and I was unhappy I figured we had gotten so far, it wasn’t the time to stop. Sending her to the moon would still do some good for someone. Otherwise, everything was for nothing. But songbird’s ending doesn’t even feel fulfilling as an end to the DLC. It’s not the same as like a random side quest quest line, this was a huge quest line and should have a fitting ending.
